About
New Management,
Same old Jolly’s.
Before introducing ourselves, we want to acknowledge the Jolly’s previous publican, Annie, who dedicated many years to keeping the place going through busy summers and quiet winters. We’re so grateful for everything she did, and we just want to let you know that we’re simply taking the reins for the next chapter and building on the foundations she created.
Rest assured, Our goal is not to change things – it’s to keep everything that people already love (we’re talking about you – steak pie!) while improving consistency, service and the overall experience.
Meet the Publicans
Luke and Christian have been friends for many years, both of them have run hugely successful hospitality ventures, and are passionate about experiences, consistent good food and making sure customers are happy.
If you ever want to reach out to either of them to discuss anything related to The Jolly’s please ask for them at the bar
The Three Jolly Sailors Public House
A quaint Grade 2 listed building and now a traditional family-friendly English pub situated 2 miles on the A171 Scarborough to Whitby Road and 300m from the popular Cinder track (former Scarborough to Whitby railway line) and close to the Cleveland Way. The building is supposed to be haunted and was used by smugglers in bygone days.
Just two miles from Scarborough and close to the Cinder Track and Cleveland Way, The Jolly’s remains a welcoming spot for families, walkers, locals and visitors — complete with a dog-friendly bar, a spacious beer garden and a cosy conservatory, and always, everyone is welcome.
We have a large car park and a wonderful conservatory where we can cater for larger groups and small functions.
Food & Drink.
We serve proper home-cooked pub food made with care and tradition. The famous Jolly Sailors steak pie recipe will not change — it’s part of the pub’s identity.
Alongside the classics, we’re bringing back excitement with a weekly changing specials board, as well as proper homemade puddings and traditional comfort dishes. Whether it’s Sunday lunch, a mid-week tea or a pint and pudding, you can expect generous portions, quality ingredients and friendly service
Community, Dogs & Events
The Jollys has always been a true village pub, and that’s how it will stay. We welcome families, locals, walkers, cyclists, visitors and well-behaved dogs in the bar.
Our conservatory and beer garden make the Jollys a great spot year-round, and we’ll be gradually reintroducing quiz nights, live music and community events. Feedback really matters to us — good or bad — because this pub belongs to the community, and we’re here to listen and grow with it.
Accommodation
We’re creating a beautifully renovated two-bedroom Airbnb above the pub, opening in 2026. Blending character with modern comfort, it will offer a warm and stylish base for families, walkers, couples and anyone visiting the North Yorkshire coast.
A direct link to the accommodation page will be added once it’s ready.
